If you're not sure what that means or how to check it, take it to someone that can 'cause you could burn the clutch up if it's not correct.

Does the clutch pedal come up fast if you turn engine off, push it to bottom and release quick ?
If it comes up as fast as your foot, you are ok, if it comes up slower it could be your clutch release bearings are going or other clutch system parts not working correctly.
Unfortunately driving style is a big factor on how fast your clutch wears out.

How do you adjust the clutch on a Nissan Sentra 2001?
I recently started having problems with the clutch. The friction point is getting higher up on the pedal. I thought the clutch itself could be worn out, but I don't have any other symptoms of a worn clutch: no trouble shifting, shifting and engaging/disengaging does not make any weird noises, the engine does not rev when I accelerate, etc. Thanks to anyone who can help me on this one.How do you adjust the clutch on a Nissan Sentra 2001?Check the fluid in the reservoir next to master cylinder. Should be 1/2 to 3/4 full. If it is up to level, then the slave cylinder or master cylinder for slave may be going bad.How do you adjust the clutch on a Nissan Sentra 2001?A common symptom of a worn out clutch is that it engages very high on the range of pedal. Having a hydraulic clutch means there is no adjustment. Just be easy on it and start saving. The parts are about $200, but the labor is about $500. Good luck. How do you adjust the clutch on a Nissan Sentra 2001?It sounds like the slave cylinder in my opinion. I would recommend getting a service manual for your Sentra. I recently replaced the slave cylinder in my 02 GXE and it wasn't that bad. I bought the part from Advanced Auto for around 40 bucks and the service manual from promanuals dot net for 20 bucks. It has a huge troubleshooting section so you can kind of gauge the problem better. It helped me better than my Haynes and Chilton manuals. My clutch is still hanging in there although I may have to change that soon.ie bird

How much does it cost to adjust clutch pedal?
So i was driving yesterday and when i shifted the clutch pedal stuck to the floor. I noticed it shifted to the right and its really close to the brake pedal. Also when i press it down it only comes up half way. I don't think I need a new clutch, just an adjustment. Does anybody know how to do this or how much it would cost? How much does it cost to replace clutch cylinder?
How much estimate would it cost to replace clutch cylinder parts and labor and all for a 97 Mitsubishi gallant, 4cyl, hydraulic clutch. How much does it cost to replace clutch cylinder?Best way is to call your local tranny shop or dealer. I don't know what the prices for the clutch cylinders for Mitsubishi are and also consider if you have both a clutch master and clutch slave cylinder because you may need to replace only one or both. Parts as far as I know range anywhere from 45-120 and labor probably 2 hours so another 200 or so. This is an absolute ballpark guess but I would think around 400 is safe.
And make sure you're talking about the clutch cylinder, not the clutch booster or clutch itself. Those are much more costly. How much does it cost to replace clutch cylinder?Never heard of a clutch booster but anyways, I would call around a few shops and ask, I would guess a clutch master cylinder would be around 400-500 installedHow much does it cost to replace clutch cylinder?this is not a repair shop, we do not know what shops in your area charge.

How bad is it to drop the clutch at high revs for a launch start?
I drive a 99 Miata and don't want to kill my clutch. I've only done this type of launch start twice but find it immensely fun. How bad is this for my car? would doing it another 10 times ruin my clutch/transmission?How bad is it to drop the clutch at high revs for a launch start? It's pretty bad I would, some newer cars even have a rev limiter while the clutch is depressed so you can't dump it from very high rpm's due to transmission failure when doing so. But how else are you going to beat the car next you at the stoplight, right? If you can't afford the replace the clutch, I wouldn't do it, if you do have the money to pay for a new clutch and other whatnot, go for it.How bad is it to drop the clutch at high revs for a launch start?nah, it'll wear on it, but it takes more than 10 to blow it. Unless it's already on the way out. Have fun. Replacing the clutch isn't that big of a deal anyways. Take you a few hours..How bad is it to drop the clutch at high revs for a launch start? If your tyres have good grip on a tarmac road you put immense stresses on the whole transmission, gear and gearbox, clutch, drive shafts. Any of those can break easily under this stresses. Keep it up if you have plenty of money to wasteHow bad is it to drop the clutch at high revs for a launch start? It's made to take it.How bad is it to drop the clutch at high revs for a launch start?well if its about racing another car then you really dont want to be dumping anything as this wastes time and tread on your wheels id suggest learning the best point on your revs to where your wheels wont spin that way you save tread your clutch and make time
on my celica its about 3.5-4k revs without having a wheel spin anything above is wasting my time when racing
if its for show and burn outs put a little diesil on the road or oil the tyres can usually get a decent burn out that way but be carefull when the tyres blow out you dont have the car flip over on you or parts come out from the wheel and hurt/kill someoneHow bad is it to drop the clutch at high revs for a launch start?Dumping the clutch serves no constructive purpose. Drivetrain components are designed to tolerate a limited amount of torque. The repair cost of fixing a drivetrain damaged by dumping the clutch could run into the thousands of dollars. Next time, buy a car with a bit more HP so you can use the gas pedal to spin the tires instead of potential kinetic energy. ;o)whats wrong with my wife make spouse happy

How much for a clutch kit to be installed?
I have a 1998 Chevy S-10 4cyl 2.2L and in NC about how much would it be to get a new clutch kit installed on my truck? I just want OEM parts nothing fancy. Estimate should include parts and labor. Thanks! How much for a clutch kit to be installed?i work at a small shop and our labor charge is $55/hour. labor would be around $550-600.00. (s-10's suck to work on. no clearance) parts would be $250-300.00 for clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing. that would be for parts from the local parts store. OEM parts from the dealer would be more. that's approx. $800-900.00 if nothing else is found. you might find a small local shop of a tranny shop in your area that is cheaper. many places mark up labor when giving an estimate expecting there will be a problem. we don't. if we find something we would call you and let you come in and look at what we found. no surprises here!. find a good local mechanic by asking your friends and family. then keep him. someone that knows your vehicle history is much better than a stranger. good luck. How much for a clutch kit to be installed?best way would be to call local repair shops and window shop.they will give you an estimate and you can get an accurate price range from that.thats what i do.How much for a clutch kit to be installed? My husband does alot of mech work he says it will probably be between $400 and $500. He says the clutch kit itself is only about $150 the rest will be labor. How much for a clutch kit to be installed? The labor times vary slightly, but you are looking at 9.8 hours and up in labor time... I don't know what the labor rates are around you, so you will have to figure that part yourself. That is book time, most shops will stick to that, or very close. I am sure you could find some type of shop that will be much cheaper and not as good of course.
As for the parts, the prices range of course, depending on the actual parts... but a Luk kit is over 350.00 dollars list price. I don't know what the OE part on this is, or the cost. Then you have the fluid, possibly flywheel, or resurface, etc. Without knowing exactly what you need, it's hard to give an estimate. I'd say you are looking at around 1200 dollars, give or take.
You should really call around you area, find out how much for the inspection and an idea of what it might cost. No one can tell you for sure without seeing the vehicle though, that pretty much requires a tear-down, which is a good portion of the labor to do the whole job.
So the best you can really do, is call around and find a shop that will give you a rough estimate of the costs, but tell you they need to see it before they can give you an exact estimate. Then they can tell you the tear-down/inspection fees, and the price range of the total job, depending on what is found.

How often can I get away with using my new clutch purse?
My wonderful boyfriend just bought me a new clutch purse, and I know he would love to see me use it. Where (and how often) can I take it without breaking any fashion faux pas?
The purse is fairly small and black, with no strap.
Thanks for your help! How often can I get away with using my new clutch purse?Since its black and small you can use it as often as you like. How often can I get away with using my new clutch purse?Clutches work great everywhere, particularly at evening events. If you don't need to carry around a lot of stuff then you can use a clutch instead of those bulky purses that have become the fashion. Also, keep in mind the type of fabric your clutch is made out of. Satin clutches are very evening, while leather and vinyl are more casual.

How bad is dumping the clutch?
I just had a brand new clutch put in my car about 5,000 miles ago. This was my first 5-speed and I have never dumped the clutch before. As dumb as it sounds to do to a new clutch I REALLY want to. I understand it's bad for the clutch, but assuming I rev it up to 4k or so and drop it into 2nd, how much damage is really being done? Can I do it once with no risk of mechanical problems? How bad is dumping the clutch?%26quot;dumping%26quot; the clutch can cause transmission, axle, and clutch problems. my best advise is not to do it.How bad is dumping the clutch?to be perfectly honest it may or may not do damage but the fact still remains theres a possibility of breaking transmission mounts, assuming the car in FWD you can weaken or break the CV axles in the front along with premature ball joint failure alot COULD go wrong not saying it will but be careful when you do and dont be suprised if something does happenHow bad is dumping the clutch?you may slip it,and if that happens it will take wear of of it,chances are it may not hurt it the first time, but you never know,it will be chance your taking if you do this,i don't advise it but if you do it be prepared for what ever happens to it,you can do more transmission damage to it than clutch damage, good luck. How bad is dumping the clutch?you can do it but its relay risky. you can screw every thing up or destroy you clutch completely or every thing will be fine. How bad is dumping the clutch?heck, it's your car, dump the clutch, can't tell you how many burnouts and holeshots I've made on a clutch, just don't get wimpy, if you dump it, don't ease out on it, thats the worse thing you can do, just like riding the clutch pedal, it will glaze the pressure plate and friction plates. How bad is dumping the clutch?Dunping the clutch is a stupid thing to do it shockloads the whole drivetrain and you can twist shafts off itn eh transmission wreck differnentials crack axles or even twist them off. I have Seen first hand what dumping the clutch or missing a shift will do inside a big rig and those components are made to handle millions of miles. twisting one and a half inch shafts right off. I know a Big rig has alot more power then your car but the components are built alot heavier too. Compents in a car are not made to take that kind of abuse and youare likely to break something. JUST DONT DO IT.How bad is dumping the clutch?well you could do it and have your laughs and not break anything.
or you can ruin your transmission and or clutch.
its a crapshoot between the two.How bad is dumping the clutch?First gear is the lowest racial. The highest is fifth gear. When the engine power is going threw the trany it gos threw a sires of reductions. The higher the gear the more direct the power is being used. The higher the gear the better chance you have of burning out the clutch. The power is being stopped now by the trany and drive train. If you use first gear you will have a better tire burnout. You will end up with more were and tear on the drive train.Tell you what engage the fifth gear and dump the clutch for a long time. You will get a lot of smoke from the clutch and not harm the drive train. You will burn out the clutch and burn up the presser plate and flywheel.Heat cracks will form and eventually the flywheel will fly apart taking every thing and every one in its path. If you brake a U joint or a C.V. your drive line or drive axial will take out every thing in its path.If they stay intact and you chow up a ring and pinion gear and spider gears. The teeth will fly threw and out the differential like a bullet. And will be just as dangerous. Why do race drivers do it? I need step by step directions on how to install a clutch in my 1983 dodge ram.How to install a clutch in a 1983 Dodge Ram?is it 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive or what, you need to provide that information then i can tell you step by step how to change it out,and having a repair manual around really helps on that one, you,ll need one anyway for the torque specifications on that one,and you don't have to worry about getting off a notch on installing a clutch it makes no difference on those,i have changed enough to know that, good luckHow to install a clutch in a 1983 Dodge Ram?Get the manual and for God's sake get a forward motion tool. The only cost about ten bucks but they are imperative.
This tool fits in the hole where the Transmission comes out of and keeps the flywheel aligned with the motor so when the clutch and tranny are reattached the gears will engage properly.
some people try to get by with out it but if you screw it up more than one notch it will not shift; period.
I had my Toyota done by a local shop and they skimped and I had to spend an extra day without my ride because it was off one notch. That means each time I shifted it hung and I had to wiggle it into gear.
Might as well not have syncro-mesh.
i had to do my Bug-Eye Sprite in a Snowstorm once but it is small and so it only took three hours.
Be sure you do not do this alone; you could become trapped below the engine or transmission and get crushed and it is not worth it.How to install a clutch in a 1983 Dodge Ram?your best bet is to go to the auto parts store and buy a Chiltons or Haynes repair manual for your car. I always get one for every car I own.

How to work a clutch on a motorcycle?
I recently bought a 95 Ninja. I have a smaller 1 speed bike... so I already know how to balance and all that... but I am unfamiliar with how exactly to work the clutch. Can someone explain it really simple for me?How to work a clutch on a motorcycle?Your clutch is basically what connects or (engages) your motor to your trans mission.
When the clutch lever is pulled in the motor and trans are disconnected ( disengaged ).
To take off from a stop, Pull your clutch in( disengage) left foot one click down from N.
** Slowly release the clutch while throttling enough to keep the bike from stalling, but not too much. You are better off to stall rather than shoot into a fence or something.
Always disengage when changing gears, while traveling in first , pull in the clutch ( disengage) while letting off the throttle shift up past N to 2nd , slowly release the clutch while applying throttle and so on. 3rd, 4th ,5th.
The same works when slowing down, as you slow down pull in the clutch while letting off the gas, shift down a gear and slowly release the clutch.
** One very important thing about the clutch!! If you ever get in a panic situation %26quot;Pull In The Clutch%26quot; and let off the gas, many new riders freeze up or goose the throttle and run into something.
You will just have to practice at what speeds to up or down shift, It's natural as you can hear the motor scream or lug when it's time to change gears. How to work a clutch on a motorcycle?i'm not really sure if the harley and kawasaki's are the same on this part but the way mine is, 1 down to first gear and the rest of the gears are up. their on the left foot side.... good luckHow to work a clutch on a motorcycle? The clutch is located on the handlebars on the left. By pulling in the lever, you place the bike out of gear. You can then switch gears, either up or down, depending on the gear pattern. On a Harley (07 model) it is one down and then five up (one at a time). By pushing down on the gear shift, the transmission goes into first gear. Slowly release the clutch lever, until you feel the bike move and the engine noise slow down, give it gas and release the clutch. When the engine starts to whine or reach the point to shift, pull the clutch lever all the way in again, and shift up one gear, then release the clutch again, slowly following the same pattern. After a few stalls, and some jerking motions, you'll get the hang of it. Or you can take an MSF course and they will teach you the proper way.How to work a clutch on a motorcycle? It's not difficult. You simply pull on the clutch any time you're changing gears and release it after you shift. For most bikes you click down on the gearshift to go from first to second, then after that you click the gearshift up to go into the higher gears. Just remember to pull that clutch any time you're shifting, and on some bikes you have to pull the clutch to start the bike, even if you're in neutral (my old Honda was like that). How to work a clutch on a motorcycle? The best thing you can do is go to your local community college and take a riders course or where ever it is offered there, check with a local cycle shop.
Clutch is simple. when you change gears let off the gas pull in the clutch shift (down all the way is 1st, then up 2nd, up 3rd, till you hit top gear) click up one time, give it throttle and ease out the clutch, (you will know when you need to shift the motor is wrapping out or down shift if it is stalling. Remember the clutch is your friend. If you get in trouble pull in the clutch and everything will get better.
Getting use to the clutch, you need to know where the friction zone is, that is the place as you let out the clutch where it first starts to grab. With the gears all the wat down 1st gear, sit on the bike, give it alittle throttle and ease out the clutch with both feet on the ground. When it starts to grab pull the clutch back in. Rock it like that several times to get the feel of it, where it starts to engage.
Once you do that Keep your feet down give it some throttle and ease out the clutch and start rolling a short distance, then pull in your clutch and do it over again till you are comfortable starting your bike off. Then do it again but this time ride it around alittle in first gear. (remember if you get in trouble the clutch is your friend, just pull it in and everything will get better)
Once you are riding around in first, try letting off the throttle, pull in the clutch and click the gear shifter up one time with your toe give it some throttle and let out the clutch 2nd gear, the rest is all determined by your speed if you go higher or lower in gears. when you are stopping remember to pull in the clutch and toe tap the shifter down as many times as it takes to get back to first gear(bottom as your rolling to a stop. then you are always ready to start off again when it is time to go.How to work a clutch on a motorcycle? It would be advisable to take a motorcycle safety class. They instruct you on proper clutch control and braking. If you have never operated a motorcycle, take this class, seriously, before you get hurt. How to work a clutch on a motorcycle?Honestly no offense but i would of learned how to use a clutch before you take it on the road, if you dont no what your doin you might die. well the clutch is on the left handle bar pull it in push down on the lever and you will be in first... give it gas and let off the clutch slowly once your going pull in the clutch again and shift up and so on.... to get it in neutral shift down to first and go half a click upHow to work a clutch on a motorcycle?and you bought a ninja?!?!?!? i hope it is a 250!!

You'll need special 'triple square' bits to remove axles from flanges on tranny. How to change the clutch in a 1997 Volkswagen VW Jetta GLX VR6?technically the official why is to keep the engine inside the bay just detach 2 of the 3 engine mounts and the axle at the tranny in order to lift the engine up at an angle in or to have enough room to slide the tranny bell housing off. But lets face it everything is in a tight place so its much easier to lift the car and lower the engine on the tranny side or keep the car on the ground and lift the engine up. Just as long as you slade the the axle out at the wheel. But most people just take the whole engine out for VR6's when doing it in a home garage.email hosting What is a good bed sheets to use

Any tips would be great thanks. How to get my air conditioning clutch to engage?Did you plug the electrical connector back on the compressor? When it's cold outside usually the a/c clutch will not even engage. (I think if it's below 35 degrees). You can also warm the engine up good so the temperature will rise in the engine compartment. What are the symptoms for low clutch fluid?
How will the clutch, shifting, and everything else respond to low clutch fluid level? What are the symptoms for low clutch fluid?Just look in the reservoir to see if it is low. If it is too low, then there is the chance of an air bubble, which can cause the clutch not to completely disengage. Then you may have gears grinding.
If air is in the system, then you will have to bleed the system. Hope this is not on a Ford Ranger or F150. They are notorious for being a problem to bleed. What are the symptoms for low clutch fluid? In addition, it makes a squeaky grinding sound. I think...What are the symptoms for low clutch fluid?follow the other peoples advice but you dont have to bleed this system if you do this right. fill with fluid, sitting in the vehicle not running pump the clutch approx 25 times, plum to the floor and release it completely each time. stop and let it set about 5 minutes between each job and then do it again and it will work the air out of it by itself. good luck

How do you know if your clutch is going bad? What are the symptoms?
When shifting into 2nd gear, after our foot is off of the clutch it sometimes takes a few seconds for it to actually go into gear. Also, if we throw down the gas, it tends to feel as though it's slipping. Does this sound as though our clutch is going bad? How long should we drive it like this? How much is the approximate cost to replace it?How do you know if your clutch is going bad? What are the symptoms?Depending on the vehicle
Front wheel drive 8-1000 bucks
Rear wheel 5-700
4 Wheel drive GEEZ about 1100
This sounds like it is going out and you will replace the pressure plate, Clutch disk and the throwout bearing. if the disc has scratched the flywheel then you are talking about extra cost as that will have to be pulled and turned or replaced depending on the amount of damage which adds about 100 buck more...I would drive it to the shop now, as I stated if the rivets of the disk gouge the flywheel you are looking at more cost.How do you know if your clutch is going bad? What are the symptoms?Don't know the cost for replacement, but slipping it is. Clutch plate could be bad, out of adjustment, springs on pressure plate broken or weak. The more it slips the hotter it gets. Don't %26quot;throw down the gas%26quot;

How much should a mechanic charge to change my clutch?
I have a 98 toyota corolla and the clutch went out last week. I have had three mechanics tell me three very different estimates. What is a reasonable quote? I live in Oklahoma City by the way, if that matters...Thanks.How much should a mechanic charge to change my clutch?Joan
First look in the yellow pages in your phone book for a clutch shop.Like maybe you have a Clutch Pros's in your city.I own a clucht shop(Clutch Mart).ok give the shop a call and get a est.for the job. Then call the other clutch shops and get the cheapest est.
make sure they only use new parts, and they surface the flywheel when replacing the clutch. The clutch kit should have a presure plate, cluthc disc, and a release bearing.(this model doesn't have a pilot bearing).Ok now call back to the one you feel is the best one and ask them if they match prices. So if you get an est of $428.00 at one place and you get $349.00 at another ask them if they would match the other places est.Now check the warranty on the clutch job,I offer a life time warranty on mine, however they may not do that where you live.
So how do you know the clutch is going out ?
Is it hard into gear ?
does it grind into gear
does the clutch pedal go all the way to the floor and stay there
Because
Your car also has a hydrualic clutch master cylinder
and a clutch slave cylinder. If these go bad it can cause the car to be hard into gear or it will not go into gear. The cold weather can cause both of these to fail.If they are bad the cost to replace them is no where near the cost of a clutch job.The clutch master cylinder is about $125.00 parts and labor the clutch slave is under $100.00 parts and labor.
Ok does the clutch slip ??
You can have the clutch adjusted if there is no free travel in the clutch pedal. Most clutch shops will do the adjustment for FREE.Having no free travel will cause the clutch to slip. This model has this problem. The adjustment in the pedel if there is no free travel can make the clutch slip.Just a simple adjustment can fix the problem.
If you have anymore questions I would be happy to help you with them. You can email me at lplysocr@aol.com or just post another question. How much should a mechanic charge to change my clutch?$250 plus parts :)How much should a mechanic charge to change my clutch?to do a clutch its not cheap so my guess is a least 200 dollars for labor plus what ever the parts you needHow much should a mechanic charge to change my clutch?bring it here to Missouri and ill have it done in around 3 hrs or so for $300 if it was a rear wheel drive it would be around $250 but front wheel is a b**** it sucks worse then a 4x4 so this is what your looking for 3hrs for $300 or so thats what i would charge anywayHow much should a mechanic charge to change my clutch? At most it would probably be $500 @ $70 an hour. Maybe can talk to a buddy and give him $300 or so?? Also, it is called for about 5.3 hours labor. And the quoated part they stated was $66.00 just for the clutch disc. Will be more with other parts involved. Like pressure plate, and pilot bearing, anf throwout bearing. Just a ballpark figure though. How much should a mechanic charge to change my clutch? It shouldn't take more then three hours labor plus parts. Find out what they charge per hour, and what they are charging for parts. It's not that hard a job for a mechanic at a shop. How much should a mechanic charge to change my clutch?Call your local used car sales lots and ask them who they would recomend . They deal with repairs all the time and know whos honest and whos not. I had a clutch changed in my pick up for $400 and thought the price was good , I had to take it back a month later and the charged another $250 . They blamed it on defective parts . A month later I had to take it to a shop refered by a local car lot . They fixed it right for $500 ( 3 years ago ) The throw out arm and pivot ball were worn out . The first shop just changed the clutch set up , the second shop checked all the moving parts and found the real problem.
Long story short - the lowest price is not always the best deal. Ask people you know , get it in writing. How much should a mechanic charge to change my clutch?Price is really gonna very on what exactly you are being quoted on. hourly labor rates run $40-70 per hour. Parts are going to vary on what they quoted, A complete job including Clutch kit( pressure plate, throw out bearing, pilot bearing and clutch disk) as well as clutch slave and master. $300-$500 If you were quoted for clutch disk only less than $50-100 for the parts. So with that said probably anywhere from $300 to $1000recipe for milk cake hair braiding

So with that said probably anywhere from $300 to $1000

How does a person not ride the clutch when parking over a loose rocky driveway?
This is a big problem for me. Due to this situation, I've gone through a couple clutches with my old car over the last 5 years which never happened till I had to park my car over a loose rocky driveway. I just bought a car and I don't want to repeat this expensive problem, but I can't seem to take the clutch out all the way. When driving slowly over a rock that jets out, the engine works harder and will stall instantly and I can't really accelerate to make up for this else the car will zoom off the driveway. I rode the clutch too much trying to practice parking with the new car and I smelled burnt clutch :( uncool. I never ride the clutch in any other situation unless I have to on uphill slow traffic times, but I don't know what to do when unleveled loose rocks creates no steady or predictable rpm. Please help me save my clutch. I rent so I can't change the driveway. I haven't found the answer to this dilemma anywhere on the web.How does a person not ride the clutch when parking over a loose rocky driveway? How rocky is this driveway?!?! If you're rolling, you don't need to be on the clutch at all or the gas and the car should roll effortlessly across a driveway! Just let it roll and you should be fine. As you come up to your parking spot, or the end of the driveway to pull out, push the clutch in and use your brakes gently. I'm not too sure, but I think that if you can't get the hang of a clutch after 5 years, maybe it is time to buy an automatic! Good luck! How does a person not ride the clutch when parking over a loose rocky driveway?Ever consider buying an automatic car? That would certainly eliminate the problem.kids hair differences between spa and salon
How can I flush my clutch master cylinder?
I'm replacing my clutch and slave cylinder due to a leak in the slave cylinder, which drew lots of clutch dust and crud into the system, making the fluid dark and cloudy. Since brake fluid is water soluble, can hosing it out, running the fluid through again and then letting it dry work? Should I replace my master cylinder completely? How can I flush my clutch master cylinder?do not flush it out with water, that will damage the system. brake fluid is not water soluble, but it is hygroscopic. it absorbs water very easily. my self i use a jar with a small piece of a hose in it that fits over the bleeder valve, and just crack that bleeder loose. keep the clutch master cylinder full and pump the brakes slowly with the cap on. i do this to bleed brakes or master cylinders also. it works well. How can I flush my clutch master cylinder?yes rebuild or replace it . you will bleed it just as you would as if you were doing your brakes . most of the time you can get remanufacturedone for like 30 or40 usd

How do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic?
I have a 1996 honda civic ex and my clutch is hard?and when you have to drive in traffic for a while it becomes a pain in the rear?is there any way to adjust the clutch so that it can be pushed easier? Anything that will make it softer will help?br>
ThanksHow do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic? If you really think it is too stiff, take it to a Honda dealer and have them adjust the cable located on the foot pedal. The procedure is complicated for internet advice. They probably won't charge much and they will be able to tell if your actual clutch is the culprit. Example the clutch engages when you barely let the pedal up off the floor. How do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic?its time to replace it.How do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic?yOU WILL HAVE TO CHANGE THE ENGAGEMENT PART OR YOUR CABLEHow do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic? Not really any adjustment to make pedal easier to push.. Most times, a stiff pedal indicates a bad pressure plate, but if you replace the pressure plate you should replace your clutch disc and throw out bearing also. Basically put a new clutch in and she should depress easy as pie..How do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic?About the only thing that you can do is get a softer clutch return spring, IF......... such a thing exists for your civic. It's a spring that attaches to the clutch and is anchored to the transmission to let the petal move into the %26quot;Up%26quot; position.
Most of the time you're pretty much stuck with the OEM part. Sometimes the aftermarket makes replacement parts for cars.
Try using the center of your foot, near the arch (instead of the end, by your toes) to push in the clutch petal. It cuts down on the fatigue factor. How do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic? There's no easy/cheap way to do it. When you replace your clutch, you can get a weaker clutch cover/pressure plate, but that's about it. Just drive it a lot, get your leg stronger. It's cheaper than paying someone to drop the tranny and do clutch work.

Windshield $100 to $120 I would guess.
Worth it? hmm maybe. vw's are know to last but can be costly to maintain. Vacuum door lock problems. Electronic issues. Lube style rear bearings. Some transmission issues in those years. Yet the aba engine is strong and will go for a long time. I'd have a good vw mechanic look at it.How much would a clutch and windshield cost for a 94 jetta?yeah i don't think that it is smart to buy something you cant drive what if you put all this money into the car and it still has problems you are really opening up a big can of worms, but the windshield should be between 150 and 200 dollars the clutch on the low side will be about 500.00 to 1000.00 dollars
How do you bleed clutch on a 94 accord and how long does it take?
My friend has a 94 honda accord and he has been asking how to get the clutch bled. I am not sure as I have never bled a clutch before nor have i had much dealings with imports. So, any help would be great and also he wants to know how long that would take to do? And, if possible, exactly what tools are needed. How do you bleed clutch on a 94 accord and how long does it take?bleed the same as brakes...need fluid,a rag and a 11mm spanner...simply loosen the bleed nipple on the slave cylnder[on the box] and pump till no air bubbles come out, then tighten the nipple at the same time the clutch peddle is depressed. How do you bleed clutch on a 94 accord and how long does it take?you'll need two people to do this job. One for pressing the clutch and the other for loosening and tightening the bleed nipple. You also need clutch fluid(approved brake fluid for Honda, DOT3 or DOT4),10mm wrench and WD-40 to spray on bleed nipple, 16 yrs old car, rust. Takes about 10 minute to finish the job. I bled the clutch on '95 Civic SI last week. The bleeding procedure is the same as the brakes. Loosen the nipple on slave cylinder while the clutch pedal being depressed by your helper, tighten it and release the clutch, refill the fluid to the max level. repeat the step until no more air coming out of the nipple, only clean and clear fluid. you're done.
The bleed nipple is usally located on the side of tranny where it meets the engine block.

What is the life expectancy of a clutch?
I drive an 07 eclipse GS 2.4L 4 CY 5 speed. Its an average car with not alot of power, I am trying to determine how long my clutch will last. I drive normal most the time, and sometimes rev and shift hard. Moderate city traffic, lots of highway driving. What is the life expectancy of a clutch? There's really not a good way to predict the life of a clutch. Much like brakes, your service will depend much on your style of driving. However, the clutch isn't used much in highway driving, so I would expect that you should get many years of service out of that clutch; I'd bet you get tired of the car long before the clutch needs replacing. What is the life expectancy of a clutch?my wife 97 eclipse has 200K miles on it and is still on the first clutchWhat is the life expectancy of a clutch?100.000 to 150.000What is the life expectancy of a clutch? How long is a piece of string? It depends. If you are one of those that keeps you left foot on the clutch all the time (but I'm really not pushing it!) and drive aggressively, not long. If you keep your foot on the floor until it's time to actually use the clutch, and drive normally, years. With highway driving it goes up to top gear and pretty much stays there, and there is no wear at all then of course. What is the life expectancy of a clutch? All depends on how you use it. Someone who rides it or abuses it will destroy it in a few thousand miles. I had 115k miles on my Mazda when I sold it with the original clutch. Ive got over 50k miles on this car.
Lots of highway driving means you aren't shifting it so it will last much longer than someone who spends all day in stop and go traffic. What is the life expectancy of a clutch? My first vehicle was a 1990 Isuzu Trooper, and it's clutch got 13 years, or about 150,000 miles. I should expect that is fairly standard. What is the life expectancy of a clutch?depends how you drive it.. mine lasted 130k miles but it had a previous owner. I dont know how she drove it.
