I'm looking at a 1993 Honda Del Sol, but when i took it for a test drive I could feel the throw out bearing and hear it. How much would it cost to replace it, and would it be cheaper to just replace the whole clutch? How much would it cost to replace the clutch?the thorow out bearing usually come with the clutch kit. clutch is coming out when you do the throw out bearing so why put the old one back in?? on a del sol i would estimate $800 on a shop to repalce it unless you doit your self. How much would it cost to replace the clutch?it would not be cheaper to replace the 500 dollar clutch than the 50 dollar bearing
however as it costs 300 or so to remove engine or tranny to replace either the saying goes..[as long as its apart you may as well do the whole thing] cost about 800

How do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic?
I have a 1996 honda civic ex and my clutch is hard?and when you have to drive in traffic for a while it becomes a pain in the rear?is there any way to adjust the clutch so that it can be pushed easier? Anything that will make it softer will help?br>
ThanksHow do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic? If you really think it is too stiff, take it to a Honda dealer and have them adjust the cable located on the foot pedal. The procedure is complicated for internet advice. They probably won't charge much and they will be able to tell if your actual clutch is the culprit. Example the clutch engages when you barely let the pedal up off the floor. How do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic?its time to replace it.How do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic?yOU WILL HAVE TO CHANGE THE ENGAGEMENT PART OR YOUR CABLEHow do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic? Not really any adjustment to make pedal easier to push.. Most times, a stiff pedal indicates a bad pressure plate, but if you replace the pressure plate you should replace your clutch disc and throw out bearing also. Basically put a new clutch in and she should depress easy as pie..How do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic?About the only thing that you can do is get a softer clutch return spring, IF......... such a thing exists for your civic. It's a spring that attaches to the clutch and is anchored to the transmission to let the petal move into the %26quot;Up%26quot; position.
Most of the time you're pretty much stuck with the OEM part. Sometimes the aftermarket makes replacement parts for cars.
Try using the center of your foot, near the arch (instead of the end, by your toes) to push in the clutch petal. It cuts down on the fatigue factor. How do I make the clutch pedal softer on my civic? There's no easy/cheap way to do it. When you replace your clutch, you can get a weaker clutch cover/pressure plate, but that's about it. Just drive it a lot, get your leg stronger. It's cheaper than paying someone to drop the tranny and do clutch work.

third never buy anything you have to repair before you can drive it

its never smart to buy any car that you know needs work before you can drive it thats plain and simple you buy it and you will be spending money on it every week and it will be in shop more than you drive it that some advice keep looking for one that you can check and drive before you buy it and type into search box
how to check used car

Good oem sachs clutch would be like $200 or maybe $300. Flywheel might be able to be resurfaced if it's thick enough. Cost like $40 at a auto machine shop. If you have it done under $1000 all in all.
Windshield $100 to $120 I would guess.
Worth it? hmm maybe. vw's are know to last but can be costly to maintain. Vacuum door lock problems. Electronic issues. Lube style rear bearings. Some transmission issues in those years. Yet the aba engine is strong and will go for a long time. I'd have a good vw mechanic look at it.How much would a clutch and windshield cost for a 94 jetta?yeah i don't think that it is smart to buy something you cant drive what if you put all this money into the car and it still has problems you are really opening up a big can of worms, but the windshield should be between 150 and 200 dollars the clutch on the low side will be about 500.00 to 1000.00 dollars

How do you bleed clutch on a 94 accord and how long does it take?
My friend has a 94 honda accord and he has been asking how to get the clutch bled. I am not sure as I have never bled a clutch before nor have i had much dealings with imports. So, any help would be great and also he wants to know how long that would take to do? And, if possible, exactly what tools are needed. How do you bleed clutch on a 94 accord and how long does it take?bleed the same as brakes...need fluid,a rag and a 11mm spanner...simply loosen the bleed nipple on the slave cylnder[on the box] and pump till no air bubbles come out, then tighten the nipple at the same time the clutch peddle is depressed. How do you bleed clutch on a 94 accord and how long does it take?you'll need two people to do this job. One for pressing the clutch and the other for loosening and tightening the bleed nipple. You also need clutch fluid(approved brake fluid for Honda, DOT3 or DOT4),10mm wrench and WD-40 to spray on bleed nipple, 16 yrs old car, rust. Takes about 10 minute to finish the job. I bled the clutch on '95 Civic SI last week. The bleeding procedure is the same as the brakes. Loosen the nipple on slave cylinder while the clutch pedal being depressed by your helper, tighten it and release the clutch, refill the fluid to the max level. repeat the step until no more air coming out of the nipple, only clean and clear fluid. you're done.
The bleed nipple is usally located on the side of tranny where it meets the engine block.

What is the life expectancy of a clutch?
I drive an 07 eclipse GS 2.4L 4 CY 5 speed. Its an average car with not alot of power, I am trying to determine how long my clutch will last. I drive normal most the time, and sometimes rev and shift hard. Moderate city traffic, lots of highway driving. What is the life expectancy of a clutch? There's really not a good way to predict the life of a clutch. Much like brakes, your service will depend much on your style of driving. However, the clutch isn't used much in highway driving, so I would expect that you should get many years of service out of that clutch; I'd bet you get tired of the car long before the clutch needs replacing. What is the life expectancy of a clutch?my wife 97 eclipse has 200K miles on it and is still on the first clutchWhat is the life expectancy of a clutch?100.000 to 150.000What is the life expectancy of a clutch? How long is a piece of string? It depends. If you are one of those that keeps you left foot on the clutch all the time (but I'm really not pushing it!) and drive aggressively, not long. If you keep your foot on the floor until it's time to actually use the clutch, and drive normally, years. With highway driving it goes up to top gear and pretty much stays there, and there is no wear at all then of course. What is the life expectancy of a clutch? All depends on how you use it. Someone who rides it or abuses it will destroy it in a few thousand miles. I had 115k miles on my Mazda when I sold it with the original clutch. Ive got over 50k miles on this car.
Lots of highway driving means you aren't shifting it so it will last much longer than someone who spends all day in stop and go traffic. What is the life expectancy of a clutch? My first vehicle was a 1990 Isuzu Trooper, and it's clutch got 13 years, or about 150,000 miles. I should expect that is fairly standard. What is the life expectancy of a clutch?depends how you drive it.. mine lasted 130k miles but it had a previous owner. I dont know how she drove it.
