How do I tell if my clutch is slipping?

I know this is probably a dumb question but how do you know? It was slightly wet on the ground the other day and I was cruising around in second gear and then gunned it from about 3k rpm. The engine revved very very quickly to about 5500 but the car didn't go anywhere. I was thinking did my tires not hook up or something? But I didn't hear any tires squelling and usually I think they'd hook up even being a little bit wet. Do you think my clutch is slipping? Can I test somehow to find out?How do I tell if my clutch is slipping?Probably was wheel spin. To test this, get the car into high gear going up a long steep incline traveling at a speed that puts you at about 1200 rpm. Now floor it without down shifting. If your clutch is slipping, you will gain rpm without a comparative increase in speed, then the rpm will slowly start to decrease as you are still gaining speed. How do I tell if my clutch is slipping? If she has to keep putting it back in, then it's slipping. Tell her to try some Kegel exercises. How do I tell if my clutch is slipping?do a heard launch it its slipping it wont go fast if it hooks up your goodHow do I tell if my clutch is slipping? With the ebrake up, keep the rpms ( engine speed ) to around 3,000 .. set it to 3rd gear and let the clutch out half way gently. If the car takes more than 5 seconds to start responding , as in start stalling a bit, your clutch is slipping. The sooner it feels like its catch/stalling, the better..

Or

On a hill, steep enough for the car to roll back on its own, rev the engine up to around 5k, and let the clutch go real fast in second gear. A good catching clutch will just bog the car down before accelerating, but a bad slipping clutch will take a few seconds to even start moving. How do I tell if my clutch is slipping?on dry ground just gas it and if the revs go up without the appropriate acceleration of the car then you have clutch trouble. How do I tell if my clutch is slipping?put the trans in gear with the engine running, e brake on, let go of the clutch, if the engine does not stall out, clutch is worn.
