It has 84,000 miles and the clutch is slipping and probably needs repair, although I drive about 2 miles a week at the most. I'm driving it cross-country in 3 months, so want to be safe and sound.

However, it is a labor intensive job. If there is an Aamco garage near you, they do the best work %26amp; gurantee it. I've done work with them in the past %26amp; they were good to me. They are trans specialist unlike many all purpose fix up joints. But the 1st answer is correct, do not go to a dealer for that repair. They will cornhole you.
