How do you put together the clutch on a high hat cymbal?

I feel stupid asking this, but my high hat has been screwed up for about a year. the cymbals won't open. they just stay on top of each other the whole time. i can't get the top cymbal to come up. so i though maybe there's something wrong with the clutch. please help me. and if you can't help with the clutch, just tell me how to fix the cymbal problem all together.How do you put together the clutch on a high hat cymbal?Go here for help:http://www.ehow.com/video_2390137_set-up
