k well took it in because there was a noise when i let go of the clutch. well go the clutch fix the noise is still there. Took it back said it was the transmission bearings which were going to cost a 1 thousand to get fix. After geting a knew clutch on my car. K i have taken it to other macanics. the say it is the out throw bearing and it is leaking oil. So how would i know if they replaces the whole clutch kit? Need a help please.Do you need to replace a transmission bearings when there is a noise after replacing the clutch?Yea I dont get this. Why is it when some people replace a clutch they dont replace the throwout bearing too. It is a 50$ part and is easy to do if the clutch is out anyway.
I bought an isuzu trooper from a guy who said the clutch was new but the bearing needs to be replaced. Mechanics screw up like the rest of us, I get that, but when they lie to you instead of manning up or even lie to try and get more money out of you it just ruins my faith in mechanics. I had a timing belt replace and on instalation he slipped a few teeth, as a result the car ran like crappola. When I confronted him he claimed my tensioner was gone and quoted me some rediculess price. I have been doing my own work on my cars ever since.
The real bad news is that it costs almost the same amount in labour to replace the bearing as the clutch. The good news is that they may not have to replace the whole clutch kit unless the oil gets on the components. You have to spend the time talking to mechanics. Call no less then 10 mechanics describe the problem describe the symtoms and get quotes and a description of the job that needs to be done.
Honestly though you would never know if they did not replace the whole kit.Do you need to replace a transmission bearings when there is a noise after replacing the clutch?Get the other mehanics to say it is the throw out bearing (sounds like it to me too) and they should have changed the front seal while the tranny was out, common sense and about 4 minutes, would have kept it from leaking, shoddy work, get the signatures from the other mechanics and take him to court, cost 125.00 to file but you get it back when you win and you will.Do you need to replace a transmission bearings when there is a noise after replacing the clutch?that noise you hear is the throw out bearing running on the pressure plate fingers, its not suppose to, after the clutch pedal is out. adjust the free play on the clutch, so when you release the clutch, the bearing releases away from the pressure plate. the only time the throw out bearing works, is when you puch the clutch in, and when you release it, the bearing suppose to just sit there on the bearing retainer, until you push the clutch again.
