How do i check the hydraulic Clutch Fluid in my 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier z24?

My clutch has no pressure so i want to check that first before i resort to anything major. I also need to know what kind of fluid it takes if you know that too.How do i check the hydraulic Clutch Fluid in my 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier z24?remove the cap of the resevoir, located next to the brake master cylinder. it should be about an inch from the top. it requires common dot3 brake fluid. dot4 synthetic fluid will work, dot5 silicone fluid will not! no hydraulic, trans, or power steering fluid!
