Im looking to buy a 1996 Impreza WRX STi done 115,000kms.
It is completely stock/standard.
What can I do to check the clutch and gearbox, as they are problems at this mileage.
Any other things to check before spending the $$$How do you check gearbox and clutch in a 1996 Subaru Wrx Sti?Test drive, make sure the gear shift is not grinding at any point. Make sure the differential/gear box fluid is not dark brown (dark brown = something is burning/overheating badly).
The Clutch may need to adjust/replace at that kms, but if you can step half way to the clutch and shift without problems, the clutch may be still good as new.
