How do you fix a clutch on a lawn mower?

Ive got a bit of a problem with my lawnmower. It works brilliantly but just recently when I try and let the clutch out to stall it it wont work.

The only way Ive been able to stop ot is to disconnect the spark plug which I dont like doing because it hurts!

So does anyone know what might be wrong with it and how to sort it?How do you fix a clutch on a lawn mower?By clutch, do you mean the handle that you let go of to stop the engine? I believe this is called a bail. The bail works by grounding the spark plug against the engine block to stop the engine. You need to follow the cable down to the engine, find the lever that the cable pulls, and inspect that mechanism. You could try pushing the lever farther to see if that stops the engine. Or maybe there is a bad connection on the ground wire. How do you fix a clutch on a lawn mower?A clutch cable usually is adjustable and if it's not fully releasing then see if there is an adjustment near the handle. u might need a wrench or pliers to loosen the nut.
